The computer lab or mobile lab is where it all begins…from staff training to teaching computer skills to students.  As your technology plan evolves, the lab remains the cutting-edge component for students.  Our model helps you get training, curriculum, integration and state-of-the-art computers with IT support today without the hassles and funding issues commonly faced.  We can provide every component of the lab or just what is needed to get your school up to a high level of technology proficiency as follows:

 

1.       Pre / Post Assessments and Professional Development

Where is your school today in Technology Planning?  What do your teachers know?  These are questions we help answer so we can apply the correct amount of resources to get the program started.  Teachers will be given a pre and post assessment to measure their knowledge of computers, and to determine their learning needs.  As part of the "prescriptive training" based on the assessment results, teachers and school staff will learn the tools relevant for their job.

 

2.       Student Curriculum, Portfolio Development, Parent Communication and Grading

BEYOND Technology Education has developed lessons to teach your students the elements of technology required for them to be successful in school and in their careers.  We integrate classroom instruction into the lab to ensure that the classroom technology projects work harmoniously with the lab.  MAC or PC environments are supported.

 

3.       Classroom Integration

Part of our curriculum process is to be sure classroom instruction is covered in the lab.  Our computer teachers are trained to meet with your staff so there is a seamless inclusion of your classroom content.

 

4.       Resource Teacher or Assistant

We have trained staff who can teach in your lab part-time or full-time depending on your needs.  Our teachers are selected to “fit” into your school environment.  We are very selective in our hiring process.  We want to insure that our teachers understand your school’s values and culture, in addition to having strong technology and teaching backgrounds.  If you already have qualified computer teachers we will train and support your teachers so they have everything they need to deliver a first class technology lesson.

 

5.       NEW Computers, Networking and Software (Mac or PC, you choose!)

We can provide brand new equipment for your lab, from computers to printers to networking.  We do it all.  And best of all, we pay all upfront costs and we maintain the equipment over the term of the agreement.  No hassles for you!   All necessary software and utilities are provided.  Age and grade appropriate software titles have been selected to teach computer skills to your students.  No games here!

 

6.       Maintenance and Supplies

We provide everything to insure that the lab runs efficiently.  We provide ink, paper, etc. and best of all we make sure the computers are working at all times.

 

7.       Internet Web Pages For All Teachers

This online tool will be used for scheduling, internal communication and parent communication.  Teachers can post test schedules, homework assignments and other relevant information that school staff and parents may be interested in knowing.  Initial training and support will be made available.

 

8.       Promotion

Our job is to help the school administrators provide a top quality computer learning experience.  We will make presentations to school boards and parents.  In many cases the funds to cover the lab costs are fully covered by parent participation.  We will help you get the entire parent population excited and motivated about technology!  Let us help you raise funds.  Parent Training, Summer Camps and on-line auctions are just a few ways we can help cover the costs.

DALLAS - September 4, 2002 - A survey released today by Texas Instruments found that an overwhelming majority (94%) of parents surveyed felt that the use of technology has benefited their children's ability to learn.

Many expect to extend their commitment by spending more than $100 on school supplies and educational technology per child; more than 20 percent expecting to spend over $250 per child.
